# add menu or tab to bonita portal

Dear All  
In order to fully customize the bonita portal, I want to add some customized pages or menu and tab to the bonita portal community 7.3. so, How can I do that?  
to modify the portal, I should know the source code of portal or not?  
any help is accepted.

There are two options and depending on the amount of customization it would probably be easier to get the source and add your own tabs to the main page. That’s option 1.

I’ve already asked for a **User Application Tab** on the ideas page [here](http://community.ofelia.com/ideas/user-applications-tab-and-associated-security) if you would like to vote it up and comment.

The second option is where you have some JavaScript that runs on the page, waits for the page to completely load and then add your tabs directly to the page, though this will probably be at the expense of User Experience.
