# Assign task to spesific user (should be easy but i failed)

Hi all,
I got difficulty to assign a task to a spesific user (one user). I try to read the manual but somehow it didnt work.
from the task/step i select actor tab and:
1. I select ‘use the actor below’
2. actor filter \> single user \> (input name) \> (input user ID)
What user ID need to be filled here? I check in my username (acme) database there is no visible user ID. When I put username, it didnt work also.
Then I run it anyway and they ask to assign member of role. The end result, the designated user i put still not get the task. Did I miss something obvious?

Nevermind. I resolved this problem. Aparently i should leave actor filter blank in this case. The best way to learn probably is to download process example from [bonita.org](http://bonita.org) and see how it worked.

Hi,
You must catch in a variable the userIDbonita of the user that you want. It must be a long.
Then, in your filter, you add the variable as parameter and only the user with the userIDbonita catched previously can do the task. If you dont see what I say, you can add me on Skype.
